This project was commissioned by Ed Hanssen and Fred van Welie, founders of Gogyoshi Art Project International which initiates art exhibitions in various countries worldwide. Under art direction of Maja Kirovska, 3 exhibitions, part of this project were organized in 3 different cities in Macedonia. The exhibitions showed 135 artworks of 86 artists and 36 students from 21 countries. All the artworks were inspired by Gogyoshi poems of the Japanese poet Taro Aizu where he writes about his love for his hometown, about the life and people of Fukushima before and after the meltdown of the nuclear reactor in March 2011. This project aims to raise the awareness and to divert the attention on the dangers and disasters that can be caused by uncontrolled nuclear energy, with emphasis on the human tragedies resulting consequences.
The organization of the project in Macedonia started with selection and arranging the conditions with gallery spaces, and during one year period the exhibition was held in 4 galleries: in Kumanovo it was exhibited in the NI Museum Kumanovo 04.08.2016-01.09.2016; in Skopje, House of Culture “Koco Racin” and Gallery “Flux”, 15.09.2016-05.10.2016 and Kavadarci, House of Culture “Ivan Mazov-Klime” 20.01.2017-10.02.2017. Maja Kirovska and her team made the exhibition designs, visual identity of the exhibitions, making publication, promotional posters and invitations, press release, social media and e-mail marketing. They also made photo-documentation of the exhibition, and the photos were used for the printed publication and online announcements.
